MY Manson Family

If it weren't for Marilyn Manson (directly or indirectly), I wouldn't know half the people I do now. (I used to work for them, by the way, in case you didn't know.) That can be considered a blessing AND a curse, as half of those people have improved my life immensely, and the other half have just pissed me the Hell off. I guess it all evens out in the end, eh?? Here are some of the people who don't piss me off.

Below: Gail with Twiggy Ramirez of MM. Right: As if I have to tell ya....

One of my best and dearest friends, Gail Worley, lives in NY. We joined forces when she eMailed me (with trembling fingers, I'm sure) for info on what questions to ask Manson in her interview with him last Fall. I noticed that many of her fears and anxieties echoed those of my first encounter with "The Rev." We've kept in close touch ever since. We've bitched and complained to each other and reassured each other and provided motivation and encouragement for each other, and we met for the first time in May when she came to Washington for a wedding.
We saw Ministry together (and despite what everyone says, they kicked ASS!!), did the Seattle tourist thing, and talked about cute boys. A few months before that, she interviewed me for the U.K. NIN fanzine, SIN. eMail Gail for info on how to order your very own copy! As a freelance music journalist (kinda like me), she meets and interviews lots of rock stars. She usually gets pictures taken with them, like those above. I also have pics of her with Christopher Hall from Stabbing Westward and Billy Idol, '80s synth-rock god. I wanted to strangle her for that one.

Jen & Jen (Ratchet & Rocket) are a couple of bitches who were/are friends with Manson, and when I started working for the band, he suggested we join forces to fight his battles online. We three be the Evil Trinity: Sadie, Katie and LuLu, X's and all. Everlasting Cocksuckers, bed-shitters and great thinkers. Dorks. I've known them since about September last year, and I met them for the first time in New York in late December, when Jen/Rocket and I flew out there and stayed with Jen/Ratchet. Jen/Rocket is from L.A. by the way. We all met up in New York -- first and foremost -- to see each other. Coincidentally, Marilyn Manson was playing the closing show at The Academy on New Year's Eve. So we decided, hey... why not? Let's go. Much fun, pasta and alcohol was had by all.

Shleestak/Belial a.k.a. Derrick Daugherty was my WebSlave... I mean, WebMinister. He is the psycho behind the Official Web Page of the Church of AntiChrist Superstar, and I couldn't have done a thing (as far as establishing a web presence for The Church) without him. Actually, he's proven invaluable in more ways than one; most recently, having saved me Luci-knows-how-much money by walking me through installing my own RAM upgrades over the phone. And he's cute, too! He has his own web publishing business, Dewn HTMLing, and is one of the greatest guys I've ever met, and I've met a lot of pretty cool guys. Actually, the first time I met him in person was at the New Year's Eve Manson show in NY, mentioned in the Jen & Jen section. eMail Derrick for more info on his business, and just to tell him that he rules, 'cuz he does. Trust me.

Angelynx, Coyote and Sistinas (Paula, Judy and Liz) on Planetcom were the first Spookies to really welcome me when I first came online. They've been there for me through some very hard times, and I always know I can count on them to make me feel wanted and needed; they're good liars. They're also some very artistic women: Paula does the Manson fanzine Daydream Milk & Genocide; Judy is an amazing artist -- she did a totally lifelike sculpture of Rev. Manson, which you can see here (soon); and Liz has taken some really great pics of the band, and was the first of the three I "met" -- through my 'zine, Levity. Without them, I may not have developed the relationship I did with a lot of the online kids. They made it fun for me. They "introduced" me to people. They responded to my posts with intellect and appreciation. They rule! I met them for the first time in person on New Year's Eve in NY at the Manson show as well.
